I'm Anthony Garcia, a software engineer with fifteen years building and running production systems, previously at Inria and Digital Catapult. Through Garlab I design, build, and ship web applications, data pipelines, and integrations, from a one-off fix to a complete product build.

I build web applications and backend APIs from first prototype to production: user interfaces, server-side logic, databases, authentication, and deployment. You get maintainable code and documentation you can hand to another developer.
Architecture and code reviews, technology selection, and delivery audits. I assess what you have, document the risks and options, and give clear recommendations you can act on.
Data pipelines, third-party API integrations, and cloud infrastructure. This covers ETL and scheduled jobs, serverless and edge functions, and connecting systems such as payment, CRM, and email providers.
I join your engineering team on a day-rate basis to add senior capacity: building roadmap features, reviewing pull requests, mentoring developers, and helping move a stalled project forward.
The tools I reach for most. I'm comfortable picking the right one for each job rather than forcing a favourite.

I've always worked on production software, with real users and real data, where reliability isn't optional. Before going independent I worked as an engineer at Inria, France's national institute for research in computer science, and at Digital Catapult in the UK. That experience shapes how I work: simple designs, clear ownership, thorough testing, and code the next developer can read and maintain.
Alongside client work I build and run LogQL, a SaaS observability platform for GraphQL APIs, a live product I designed, shipped, and operate end to end.
Garlab provides full-stack development, technical consultancy, data and platform engineering, and contract support. On each engagement I work directly with you, from scoping the work and writing the code to deploying it and handing over documentation. Engagements run from a few days of advisory work to multi-month builds.
Away from client work, I spend time on recreational mathematics, currently working toward a first paper.
